Using the 5e Monster Builder

The 5e monster builder uses the Blog of Holding monster maths. Check that out first so that you understand what's happening here.

  1. Select a CR (Challenge Rating) and click "Update". (!! Any info entered is lost when you click Update !!)
  2. The 5e Monster Builder will return all the numbers you need for your selected CR.
  3. Use the sliders and drop downs to customise your monster, based on the concept you have in mind. Fractions are rounded down to the nearest whole number, as per the 5e rules.
  4. Fill in all your other details, as needed.
  5. Copy the text from the Output and drop it into your wordprocessor.
